Julia and Ruth creatively bonded over a desire to challenge the status-quo and over a passion to question limitations.
With entrepreneurial instincts, storytelling prowess and a mutual love for unexpected narratives they decided to embark on an adventure.
Untamed Stories exists to push boundaries, provide hope, insight and illuminate life’s most fascinating and important elements by providing training, and more opportunities on and off screen.
Julia Berg
Founder
Julia started her career working at New York's Likely Story working for producer Anthony Bregman with talent such as Charlie Kaufman and Nicole Holofcener.
She has worked in development for producer James Wilson on projects for filmmakers Jonathan Glazer and Lynne Ramsay and for Maven Pictures (Executive Producers of 'American Honey'), collaborating with partners such as the BFI, Film4, the BBC and Screen Australia.
In 2018, Julia started working independently with new talent around the UK to hone skills in writing and connect the new talent to the market.
In 2021, Julia was brought on board as a Development/New Writers Consultant to Bruce Goodison and Kate Cook´s Indefinite Films to bring new and emerging writers to their slate, working with Channel 4 and Tony Grisoni to create a new writers residency for a potential C4 4-part TV series.
Ruth Spencer
Partner
Ruth is based in Hasting, UK. She has a keen eye for culture, trends and spotting distinct ideas.
She worked in London for 12 years in the digital media and talent management spaces.
With 4 years spent as the Head of Development / Lead Interview Producer at a podcast and online media company with millions of followers, Ruth developed and produced hundreds of hours of content amassing millions of views.
Securing many high-profile names as guests/contributors, from leading filmmakers including Brett Morgen (‘Jane’, ‘Cobain’), Greg Nicotero (‘The Walking Dead’) through to Christiane Amanpour.
She is always looking out for the next incredible story to tell through trailblazing content and working with new voices to shepherd this through the pipeline.
Ruth´s work extends to the field of Art and providing training programs to creatives through Art practice.
